Welcome
Introducing Clues and Questions
Hello, and thanks for popping by!
This is Clues and Questions, a letter from me, Wendy Ball. It’s an experiment, offered freely to the curious or intrigued.
My hope is that it will be a gift to kinfolk who are also on the hunt for life-giving stuff – patterns of life and ways of organising that enable more wellbeing for us all.
~
The content will be eclectic drawing on a wide range of experiences and influences – including from my work.
My work is my labour in the world. I dislike the phrase ‘work-life balance’ which places work as somehow ‘outside’ life. For me, work is a core strand within life, and refers to far more than simply what I might get paid to do. (Surely ‘work-rest’ balance makes more sense?).
Similarly, I’m always hesitant to categorise my activities as either ‘professional’ or ‘personal’. These contributions are all rather personal and important to me. What I do alongside clients (my ‘paid work’) and those I support is mutually nurtured and enabled by how I invest in learning and creative expression in other spaces too.
So this letter is not going to try to occupy a singular ‘domain of interest’.
Rather each edition will be shaped by a short sharing of something that feels resonant and important – a ‘good clue’.
~
I will close each letter with two questions – things I’m musing on that you, as a reader, might also appreciate pondering. One question will be focused on the personal, the other will be designed to bring a lens to our collective practices and the ways we are showing up in groups.
The principle of ‘Ubuntu’ is at the heart of this work and this letter: I am because we are. The essence of being human is our entanglement – with each other and with everything that is.
~
The rhythm may be monthly, or perhaps something more adhoc. I’ll be finding my way.

If there are specific things in the form or content that land well with you, do let me know. And definitely unsubscribe if you find it isn’t worth your time. #todayisallwehave #makingchoices
Finally, let me close this welcome with a little something that emerged in my sketchbook:
Warmly,
Wendy
